Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students for the 2026-2027 school year as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational environment near Dover, NH. This contract position is ideal for dedicated educators passionate about fostering academic and personal growth in students with diverse needs.
Multiple positions are available:
Three roles supporting grade-level resource rooms, delivering tailored instruction and interventions. One role providing specialized support in a self-contained program focused on mental health and behavioral needs. Ideal candidates bring empathy, adaptability, and collaborative skills to excel within a caring school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid New Hampshire Teaching License required. Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred. A strong foundation in differentiated instruction and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Experience or familiarity with behavioral supports, especially for mental health-focused classrooms, is highly valued. Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to commit to a full school year, from September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on students' IEP goals. Develop and implement accommodations and modifications to ensure student success. Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers. Monitor progress, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in IEP meetings. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. In the program-specific role, utilize emotional and behavioral supports for students who benefit from a structured, therapeutic approach. This role offers consistent daytime hours (7:30 AM - 2:20 PM) and the chance to impact students' lives in meaningful ways throughout the school year.
