Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students' educational journeys in a dynamic school setting near Exeter, NH. Four Special Education Teachers are needed for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year—three focused on resource room and grade-level support, and one with a specialized role in a mental health/behavior self-contained program. Make a meaningful difference every school day, working collaboratively with students, families, and fellow educators.
Qualifications:
Valid New Hampshire Teaching License required Experience as a Special Education Teacher in resource or self-contained settings preferred Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Skill in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs Effective communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Deliver specially designed instruction to students with a variety of needs in resource, grade-level, or program-specific settings Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families for comprehensive student support Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and accommodations Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral interventions Contribute to school-wide efforts for promoting positive behavioral supports, especially in the mental health/behavior program role This contract assignment runs from September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with a Monday-Friday schedule and work hours from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM. The position offers consistent hours each week (32.5-35), ensuring excellent work-life balance during the academic year.
