Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by stepping into a rewarding Special Education teaching role for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students at the middle school level with varying needs near Hampton, NH.
Multiple positions are available:
three educators will work within resource rooms providing grade-level support, while one professional will focus on a specialized self-contained program for students with mental health or behavioral needs. Ideal candidates are committed educators with a passion for individualized learning and a strong ability to create nurturing, inclusive classroom environments. A current NH Teaching License is essential for these roles.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid NH Teaching License with Special Education endorsement required Experience working in special education settings, particularly at the middle school level Background supporting students with behavioral or mental health challenges (for program-specific role) Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and support staff Adaptability and problem-solving skills to meet the needs of diverse learners Ability to design, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction in resource rooms or self-contained classrooms Develop, update, and carry out IEPs in partnership with a multidisciplinary team Cultivate a safe, engaging, and positive classroom climate that encourages growth and development Collaborate regularly with administrators, general education teachers, and related service providers Track and report student progress, using data to adjust strategies as needed Communicate effectively with families to foster understanding and involvement This full-time contract offers a steady weekday schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM, ensuring work-life balance during the school year.
