POSITION DESCRIPTION
HUES is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to lead an elementary-level Emotional/Behavioral Program for the 2026-2027 School Year. This role is responsible for providing specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, self-regulation, and positive social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals
- Write IEP goals and Progress Notes for individual students.
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and supports
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform instruction
- Support students in developing coping strategies, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or higher; NH State Certification in General Special Ed (1900) required; EBD certification preferred; Applicant must be able to pass a State and Federal Criminal Background check;
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges preferred
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and trauma-informed practices
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
