Job Description
Monroe School District is a prek-8 school with an anticipated enrollment for FY27 of 90 students
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Serve as a special education resource person for staff and parents
Apply knowledge of learning theories, child and adolescent psychology, curriculum and research
Follow state and district screening and evaluation procedures to determine if a student has an educational disability
Assist in designing and implementing IEPs with required IEP team
Provide direct service for selected students with disabilities
Consult with classroom teachers of students with disabilities
Provide daily planning and gathering of instructional materials to implement IEPs, as needed
Ensure accuracy and frequent data entry in NHSEIS
Monitor student progress in cooperation with classroom teachers and provide periodic progress reports to parent
Serve as case manager for special education students in grades pk-8
Ensure that all steps in the special education process are completed in a timely manner as required by state laws, federal laws and District policies and procedures
Establish and maintain student behavior supports for identified students as needed
Fulfill all teaching responsibilities in conformance with school board policies, school district procedures, and the current negotiated agreement
Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
NH Certification in Special Education
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related areas
Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, related service providers, and supervisors
Demonstrated strengths in organization and communication
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports to:
District Administrator
Degree Preferred - Bachelor with 5 years of experience
Work year and day subject to individual contract.
Salary and benefits are defined by the collective bargaining agreement, as well as subject to school board policy, district rules and regulations
