Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are seeking two, and possibly three, dedicated Special Education teachers with proven school experience to make a meaningful difference in a vibrant educational setting near Newport, NH. This full-time position offers between 32.5 and 37.5 hours per week and spans from August 2026 through June 2027. As a pivotal part of the special education team, you'll play an instrumental role in shaping academic and personal growth for students. High school experience is especially valued, but candidates with elementary or preschool experience are encouraged as additional openings may become available.
Ideal candidates will have:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Demonstrated experience working in a school setting Ability to effectively manage caseloads and case documentation Strong communication and collaborative skills Flexibility to adapt to shifting student and building needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment Key responsibilities include: Providing specially designed instruction and accommodations for students with IEPs Managing caseloads and ensuring timely completion of IEP documentation Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families Implementing evidence-based instructional strategies Maintaining detailed records and progress monitoring Advocating for students and supporting their academic, behavioral, and social growth This contract offers a dynamic and supportive environment where your expertise will be valued.
