Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a supportive educational environment near Portsmouth, NH. With opportunities available in both resource rooms at various grade levels and within a specialized program focusing on mental health and behavioral support, you'll play an essential role in shaping student experiences for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Current New Hampshire Teaching License (required) Experience with resource room instruction or self-contained programs preferred Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Compassionate, creative, and patient approach to supporting students with special needs Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
Position Information and Responsibilities:
Full academic year contract: September 1, 2026, to June 16, 2027 32.5 to 35 hours per week within standard school hours (7:30 AM - 2:20 PM) Teach and provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students in designated resource rooms or a specialized setting Collaborate with school-based professionals to develop and modify IEPs and 504 plans Implement evidence-based strategies and modifications to promote positive student outcomes Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere By bringing your skills and empathy to this position, you'll contribute significantly to student development while working within a collaborative educational setting.
