Special Ed Teacher

This role involves working within a self-contained classroom designed to meet the unique needs of students on the autism spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction tailored for K-2 students with autism spectrum disorder. Manage a caseload of 8 students, ensuring individualized education plans (IEPs) are effectively implemented. Collaborate closely with two assigned paraprofessionals to foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Monitor student progress and communicate with families and school staff on developmental and academic goals. Maintain compliance with state and district special education guidelines.

Qualifications:

Active Standard or Teacher of the Handicapped licensure valid in New Jersey is required. Experience working with young children on the autism spectrum preferred. Strong classroom management skills and ability to lead a self-contained special education classroom. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals, families, and school personnel.
