Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact guiding high school students as a Special Education Teacher with expertise in Math or Science. In this engaging contract position, you'll support learners in grades 9-12, helping them thrive both academically and personally throughout the school year schedule, including full school year and extended services. This role offers the opportunity to work in an inspiring environment with a unique, motivated student population.
Key Qualifications:
Valid NJ Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) Demonstrated background in Math or Science instruction, preferably at the high school level Experience supporting IEPs, progress monitoring, and curriculum differentiation for diverse learners Strong collaboration skills to partner with general education staff, related service providers, and families Ability to cultivate positive relationships while maintaining high educational standards Passion for working with high school students navigating recovery and individual challenges
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated Math or Science instruction to high school students receiving special education services Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team Use innovative strategies to engage, inspire, and support a caseload of high school learners Maintain ongoing communication with families and document progress effectively Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment where every student can succeed Participate in professional development and team meetings as assigned Envision contributing to a school community committed to empowering students towards academic and personal recovery.
