August 25, 2026 Appropriate Certificate Required (i.e. TOH or TOSD) Innovative, child-centered professional Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Prior experience/familiarity with multi-sensory reading approaches & diagnostics. Knowledge/application of research-based, developmentally appropriate content area instructional strategies. Experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or cognitive impairments in a school setting. Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection. Ability to manage a classroom with a wide range of academic and functional levels. Familiarity with life skills curriculum and community-based instruction. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Preferred:

Experience in a self-contained or LLD classroom in a middle school setting. Knowledge of multisensory reading programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE). Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or behavior management strategies. Experience with functional academic programs and transition planning for secondary students. Experience in ELA and Social Studies. Comfort integrating technology and adaptive tools into instruction. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Salary:

In accordance with the established WTEA Salary Guide ranging from $65,315 - $78,520
