About the Role Leading Edge is seeking an energetic, dependable, and engaging Lead Teacher to support our extended day program at Cheesequake Preschool. This is a leadership position that combines direct student engagement with program support responsibilities. The Lead Teacher plays an important role in creating a safe, enriching, and inclusive environment where students can learn, build relationships, and have fun after the school day ends. The Lead Teacher works closely with the Site Director to support daily operations, implement engaging curriculum and enrichment activities, foster positive relationships with families, and help ensure a high-quality program experience for all students. When needed, the Lead Teacher may serve as the site's point person in the absence of the Site Director. We are hiring ahead of the 2026-2027 school year, creating a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to become familiar with their program, expectations, and leadership team before the start of the new school year. Prior to the conclusion of the current school year on June 26, 2026, the selected Lead Teacher will have the opportunity to observe and learn program operations, meet students and families, and build relationships with fellow team members. After the school year concludes, the Lead Teacher will support our summer programming, gaining valuable experience with curriculum implementation, student engagement, behavior management, family communication, and program operations while maintaining employment throughout the summer. Camp EDGE operates June 29 through August 22, 2026, Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:30 PM, with flexible scheduling available. STEAM Camp operates July 6 through July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This summer experience provides additional opportunities to develop leadership skills, collaborate with educators across multiple sites, and enter the school year with confidence and familiarity with Leading Edge programs and expectations. Responsibilities Support daily program operations and collaborate with Leading Edge staff, school administrators, families, and students Assist with planning and implementing engaging lesson plans, enrichment activities, and hands-on learning experiences Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students Ensure proper supervision of students at all times, including transitions and group activities Encourage student participation, creativity, teamwork, and social-emotional growth Monitor student behavior and document incidents according to company policies Serve as the site point person in the absence of the Site Director Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment Communicate professionally with families, school personnel, and team members Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required Follow all health, safety, and New Jersey licensing regulations Qualifications Some college coursework preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience in a structured education, childcare, camp, enrichment, or youth development setting Must meet and maintain New Jersey state licensing requirements Reliable transportation Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable using web-based systems and technology Passion for working with children and creating engaging learning experiences Benefits Free Calm Premium Subscription Employee Discount Perks at Work Discount Program Teacher Discounts 401(k) Plan Aflac Supplemental Benefits Paid Sick Time Paid Training on Snow Days Ongoing Professional Development and Training Opportunities for Career Growth and Advancement Apply Today!
