The successful candidate will provide targeted literacy instruction, implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate with general education teachers to ensure all students have access to grade-level curriculum and meaningful learning experiences. Responsibilities Provide small-group, targeted instruction in reading and writing aligned to NJSLS Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals with an emphasis on literacy growth Utilize data-driven instructional practices to support student progress Collaborate with general education teachers, Child Study Team members, and related service providers Maintain compliance with NJ special education regulations and timelines Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress Qualifications Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification or Teacher of the Handicapped certification Language Arts Literacy certification (or strong background in ELA instruction) preferred Experience working with middle school students (grades 4-8 preferred) Knowledge of evidence-based literacy interventions and differentiated instruction Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
