As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your expertise will help create engaging lesson plans, implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and support children with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. This is an exciting opportunity to lead by example, mentor fellow educators, and make a lasting impact on children's educational journeys. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and tailored to individual student needs. Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math skills, behavioral health, and social-emotional growth through innovative teaching methods such as Montessori or other pedagogical approaches. Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment. Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to develop and review individualized education programs (IEPs) ensuring all students receive appropriate support. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and aides, providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional best practices. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and inform instructional adjustments. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavioral reports, and communication logs while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development related to speech therapy, deaf education, working with children with disabilities, early intervention strategies, and childhood development trends. Skills Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or special education settings. Strong knowledge of curriculum development for preschool through elementary levels, including literacy education and math instruction. Expertise in working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments (deaf education), and other special needs. Skilled in designing lesson plans that incorporate speech therapy techniques and behavioral health interventions. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, therapists, and community resources such as library services. Ability to implement IEP goals effectively while maintaining compliance with educational standards. Familiarity with Montessori or other specialized preschool curricula; prior private school experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to mentor staff members while fostering a collaborative team environment. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures for early childhood assessment purposes.
