Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher near Newark, NJ, supporting students and collaborating with dedicated educational professionals. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, focusing on guiding students to success while maintaining a balanced work schedule. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough educational evaluations and managing a caseload of 30-40 students. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring each student receives the tailored instruction and support they deserve. Be prepared to handle additional evaluations as needed, allowing you to make a true difference for those who require specialized assistance.
Schedule details:
Standard hours are 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional extended days until 4:30 PM may occur during the first six weeks. Some Fridays may provide earlier release times, offering you a bit of flexibility, though most will mirror the regular schedule. To be considered, candidates should have: NJ Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification (required) Experience as a Special Education Teacher within a school setting Strong skills in educational assessment and case management The ability to balance documentation with direct instructional support Excellent communication and organization abilities Responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive educational evaluations and preparing corresponding reports Managing and supporting a student caseload of 30-40, ensuring their academic and developmental goals are met Collaborating effectively with colleagues, families, and related service providers Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines Step into a meaningful position where your expertise will help shape the educational experiences of students who need it most.
