Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding opportunity as a contracted professional supporting students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational environment near Newark, NJ. In this position, you will utilize your expertise as a Special Education Teacher with LDT-C certification, providing comprehensive educational evaluations and managing a varied caseload. Your work will be based primarily at a designated core location, with occasional assessment responsibilities at nearby campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete thorough educational evaluations for students, ensuring adherence to all relevant guidelines and timelines. Maintain and manage a caseload of 30-40 students, developing individualized educational plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress. Provide consultative and direct support to instructional staff and families regarding student needs and interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate data-driven decision making. Conduct up to 10 additional evaluations annually at satellite campus locations as needed. Ensure documentation, reports, and recommendations are accurate and timely. Adapt to occasional schedule changes, with early-release Fridays possible and some extended days (until 4:30) during the initial six weeks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid LDT-C (Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant) certification. Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based setting. Strong background in educational evaluation and development of IEPs. Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to record-keeping and data analysis. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities. Effective communicator with students, families, and fellow professionals.
