This position focuses on working with a caseload of eight students on the autism spectrum, providing specialized instruction tailored to their individual needs. The role requires collaboration with two paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized educational programs for K-2 students on the autism spectrum. Manage and implement classroom activities to promote student development and engagement. Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and school staff to support student success. Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

Active Standard or Teacher of the Handicapped license valid in the state of New Jersey. Experience working with young children in special education settings, particularly with autism spectrum populations. Ability to manage a self-contained classroom with multiple support staff. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Position is based in Piscataway, New Jersey. This contract role extends from the current date through the end of the academic year.
