As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom that promotes early childhood development and literacy. Your expertise will help create a nurturing space where children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism, can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead curriculum development, implement behavioral health strategies, and mentor fellow educators to ensure the highest quality of early childhood education. Duties Develop and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and sensory activities tailored for early childhood education. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral therapy techniques and classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support children's individual needs, including working with students with disabilities and those requiring speech therapy or behavioral interventions. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools and maintain detailed records of each child's progress, including IEP (Individualized Education Program) documentation. Provide mentorship and ongoing training for teaching staff on best practices in special education, Montessori methods, or preschool experience to enhance classroom effectiveness. Engage families through regular communication about their child's development, progress on IEP goals, and strategies for supporting learning at home. Organize library services and educational activities that promote literacy education and childhood development skills in a nurturing setting. Qualifications Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings with a focus on special education or developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities, or behavioral health challenges is highly desirable. Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing methods, and behavioral management strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, colleagues, and specialists. Background in speech therapy, behavioral health services, or tutoring is advantageous. Childcare certification or relevant credentials in early childhood education preferred; Montessori or private school experience is a plus.
