Duties Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Lead classroom activities that promote active participation, critical thinking, and social skills development. Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or developmental delays. Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral management techniques to create a safe and inclusive environment. Provide mentorship and mentoring to assistant teachers or student teachers, fostering professional growth within the team. Incorporate evidence-based practices such as speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and early intervention methods to support diverse learners. Maintain detailed documentation of student development, attendance, IEP goals, and communication logs. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education strategies, Montessori or preschool methodologies. Facilitate communication with parents and guardians to update them on progress and collaborate on supporting each child's learning journey. Experience Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for young learners with diverse needs. Strong background in special education practices including working with students with autism or other developmental disabilities. Experience conducting speech therapy sessions or behavioral therapy interventions is highly desirable. Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and literacy/math instruction methodologies. Prior experience in private schools or Montessori environments is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor colleagues and engage effectively with families. Knowledge of classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior and inclusive participation.
