Start Date:

September 1, 2026. The educator will be responsible for teaching groups of students with a range of disabilities. The selected candidate will develop, monitor and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students which includes their intellectual, emotional, social and physical well-being. Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, understand the value of culturally responsive instructional practices and have a firm belief in the potential of all students.

General Requirements:

Our ideal candidate should have; Special Education/Students with Disabilities (K-12) NYS Certification. Candidates who posses other teaching certificates, in addition to special education are preferred. Master's degree preferred. Familiarity and experience providing instruction and support for students with emotional disabilities and/or behavioral challenges. Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole. Familiarity and experience providing instruction for students with disabilities in a co-teach setting.

Salary and Benefits:

According to the SCTA Contract - at least Schedule 1, Step 1 or $57,677.00 depending on experience and transcripts. Competitive benefits.

Job Qualifications Preferred Skills Of The Ideal Candidate:

Knowledge of multi-disciplinary instructional techniques, research-based interventions for teaching academics as well as behavior, and strategies for collecting data and monitoring academic/behavioral progress. Knowledge of/experience with developing and implementing positive behavioral supports, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and functional behavioral assessments (FBAs). Familiarity with developing and delivering highly engaging instruction. Experience with classroom management, IEP goal development and progress monitoring. Able to lead classroom staff and collaborate with other members of the special education team.
