As the Lead Schol-Aged Teacher at our center, you will lead classroom activities, implement age-appropriate curricula, and support the holistic growth of children in your care. Your enthusiasm for childhood development and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere will help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Education Requirements Associate's degree in Child development, Elementary education, physical education, recreation, or a related field OR School-age Child care Credential or other Office-recognized credential specific to the school-age AND one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age developmental period High School Diploma or equivalent AND two years of direct experience working with less than 13 years of age. Duties Support all areas of development: Social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs. Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, including homework support, arts and crafts, hands on activities, STEM activities, games, and outdoor play. Observe, document, and assess children's development to ensure milestones and developmental expectations are being met. Maintaining accurate attendance records and tracking arrivals and departures. Mentor and support assistant teachers and contribute positively to the overall team environment. Ensure compliance with OCFS licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and center policies Knowledge and previous experience with Brightwheel a plus Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management strategies a plus Excellent communication skills for engaging with families, team members, and community partners.
