Job Description

Clerical/Retail Instructor | Special Ed Work Readiness Bethpage, NY; some travel required
Salary:
$23.63 - $25.28/hr At Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. FREE provides a diverse array of supports and services including: housing; recovery services; transition to work; employment; day, community and family services; respite; crisis services; education and after school support; specialty health services; and advocacy. The Clerical and Retail Instructor at The Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) , is responsible for instructing consumers according to established curriculum in their designated specialty area. This includes office and clerical skills and computerized stock inventory/retail. The Instructor will also be responsible for developing other means of instructing consumers who need special assistance, while teaching consumers the necessary skills to obtain a position in their designated work readiness field. Specifically, you will: Provide direct instructional support to students enrolled in the Work Readiness program. Develop, implement, and modify curriculum based on individual student needs, abilities, and program requirements. Assess student progress and update training plans to reflect changing needs and goals. Order and maintain program supplies and inventory while ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. Assist in the development and maintenance of program forms, procedures, and billing records. Collaborate with DVE staff to identify and select individuals for participation in the Work Readiness program. Deliver instruction in basic mathematics, business forms, workplace skills, and Microsoft Office applications. Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate student records and documentation. Ensure all paper and electronic documentation is completed accurately, submitted on time, and meets quality and compliance standards.

We require:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of two (2) years of experience in vocational training, work readiness, teaching, special education, or a related human services field required Experience working with adolescents or adults with disabilities preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in English Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications required Ability to work effectively in a team environment with flexibility and proactive communication Must be organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple responsibilities Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency driver requirements Ability to support other Work Readiness training programs as needed Clerical/Retail Instructor, for immediate consideration, please apply now!
