Head Start Teacher

T he Lead Teacher is responsible for overall classroom operations, providing quality care, education, and supervision to children in a daycare or early childhood setting. Providing leadership and guidance in implementing a comprehensive early childhood education program for children and families enrolled in the Preschool/Head Start Program. Develop a working knowledge about Early Childhood Learning Standards, Core Body of knowledge. Developmentally appropriate practice guidelines, as well as age-appropriate activities to promote the children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. Office of child and family services regulations and requirements, hold certificates in emergency first aid and CPR for appropriate age levels, know CPS reporting requirements and how to service children with special needs. The Education Specialist, teaching assistants, and administrative staff will give support as needed.
