QUALIFICATIONS or

EXPERIENCES

The candidate must have familiarity with research-based best practices in content areas including:

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students
• Establish clear objective to assist with meeting IEP goals
• Developmentally appropriate practices and strategies in literacy
• Integrated curriculum
• Child-centered/Multi-age Instruction
• Familiarity with differentiated, modified and accommodated instruction
• Experience with Common Core and CDOS Standards
• Understanding of the needs of a diverse population and special needs
• Understanding of skills needed to build effective instructional teams and work collaboratively
• Understanding of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
• Knowledge and practice of various learning styles and characteristics of students on the spectrum
• Knowledge and application of Applied Behavioral Analysis
• Practices and strategies in using technology in the classroom and student specific
• IEP Mapping and Development
• Part 200 of NYS Regulations
• Data-driven instruction
• Assessment/progress monitoring that can be used to communicate progress to parents and to make instructional decisions
