Self-Contained Classroom Salary/Pay Scale:
$45,729 (+ $2,200 Master's) per the
CSUFSD TAC
Contract Position Summary/Purpose:
In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive student-centered learning environment that recognizes the unique needs and talents of all students by combining character education with a curriculum based on critical thinking. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child in order to create lifelong learners who are best prepared for college, career, and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
The successful candidate will: Demonstrate understanding and strong knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards Show evidence of thoughtful and reflective lesson planning Identify and implement specific student learning outcomes to be attained in relation to student learning needs and IEP objectives Make data-driven decisions and maintain appropriate documentation Apply appropriate teaching strategies consistent with student needs, selected curriculum, and time allocations Make appropriate accommodations for each student's physical, educational, or behavioral disabilities Consult and collaborate with support staff and administration regarding strategies that will enable all students to achieve success Coordinate other services for all students as needed, for example, speech therapy, adapted physical education, and occupational and physical therapy Make appropriate use of instructional time; maintain an appropriate physical environment and appropriate individual, class, and program records Provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment with high expectations that encourage student responsibility and leadership Knowledge of educating the whole child by supporting academic, social, and emotional growth Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and Student Services and/or the

Additional Job Information Requirements and Qualifications:
? NYS Certification in Special Education is required (1st - 6th required) ? Experience as a special education teacher at the elementary level in a self-contained classroom is preferred, but not required
