Job Description

Most Holy Rosary School is currently seeking a full-time 6th Grade Teacher.
Qualifications:
An ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to: Teach the fundamentals of all subjects for 6th grade. Teach full classes, small groups, and individual students effectively Guide instruction by the Next Generation State Standards and the school's Curriculum series Collaborate with colleagues to create Communicate with parents and students about student's progress; and adequately meet the student's needs through re-teaching or enrichment opportunities. Effectively conduct formal and informal assessments Differentiate instruction Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges
Requirements:
Valid New York State Teaching Certificate or another state's equivalent Bachelor's degree Middle School experience is preferred Essential Functions Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Diocese of Syracuse including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters Directs and evaluates the learning experience of the student in both curricular and extracurricular activities Provides guidance to student that promotes his or her welfare and Christian educational development Carries out carefully constructed lesson plans and maintains documentation of instructional planning Carries out the disciplinary policies of the school Attends and participates in staff meetings Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff Keeps records of attendance, checks home assignments, and completes report cards Supervises extracurricular activities as assigned Supervises arrival and dismissal of students and assists in the supervision of students as needed
