Akron, OH Job Details Full-time $34,000 - $37,000 a year 16 hours ago Benefits Career development plan Qualifications Working with individuals with disabilities Working with students Community relationship building Stakeholder relationship building Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Summary/Objective The Title One Teacher and/or Tutor provides students under his/her direct supervision with a quality educational program appropriate for their ability, subject, growth, and personal characteristics. This role is focused on supporting students' academic success through targeted reading and/or math interventions. Responsibilities Provide reading and/or math intervention to all students as needed, with an emphasis on Tier 2 and Tier 3 students Rank students from most in need to least in need of Title One services Administer STAR benchmarking and progress monitoring as required by the building Complete Parent Notification meetings for Title One eligibility Provide Parent Notification of Title One services Develop a Title One schedule Maintain a daily Time and Effort Log Support parental involvement through meetings and Parent Newsletters Demonstrate evidence of effective planning Demonstrate evidence of organization Employ a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet student needs Possess thorough knowledge of the subject matter being taught Show interest in maintaining a positive classroom environment Encourage proper care and use of equipment, furnishings, and materials Be receptive to new instructional ideas and approaches Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and learning Use the written and spoken word correctly Evaluate and report student progress on the approved reporting tool as scheduled Follow Summit Academy's Instructional Design Adhere to Teacher Responsibilities as set forth in the Teacher Handbook Establish and maintain positive rapport with students and staff Develop and maintain a consistent classroom routine Set clear expectations for students Uphold school rules and policies Maintain positive public relations with parents, community members, and stakeholders Participating in professional improvement activities Serve on school and/or district-wide curriculum committees Plan, implement, and complete an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) as prescribed by the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) Maintain professional behavior at all times Dress professionally in accordance with school standards Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees Knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards and model curriculum Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and school business Supervisory Responsibility None Work Environment This job operates in a professional school environment and routinely uses standard office and classroom equipment.
