Job Description

The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist provides specialized instruction and support to preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. The Intervention Specialist develops and implements individualized educational programs, collaborates with families and multidisciplinary team members, and creates a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes communication, social-emotional development, independence, and school readiness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct instruction in communication, social skills, early literacy, math readiness, adaptive behavior, and functional life skills. Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives. Conduct ongoing assessments to guide instruction and intervention planning. Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior specialists, and other service providers. Utilize evidence-based instructional practices for students with autism and developmental disabilities. Implement behavior support plans and positive behavior interventions. Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and educational programming. Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and classroom support staff. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field. Valid Ohio Early Childhood Intervention Specialist License (Pre-K-Grade 3). Knowledge of child development and early childhood special education practices. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience working with preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. Experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and positive behavior supports. Familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems. Experience in a center-based preschool or special education setting. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
