Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Embark on a contract position supporting students striving to reach their academic and career goals within a dynamic dropout recovery and prevention program. This unique opportunity places you in an environment dedicated to serving "opportunity youth" ages 15-21, offering a flexible, self-paced curriculum, diploma achievement, and career and technical education designed to prepare students for sustainable, meaningful employment after graduation. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through June 25, 2027, working a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure/certification as a Special Education Teacher Proven experience supporting high school students with diverse needs Ability to modify instruction and create individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and external partners Flexibility and resourcefulness to engage and motivate students who may face academic and personal challenges Familiarity with career and technical education or alternative school settings is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver adaptive instruction for students with disabilities in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings Develop, update, and implement IEPs in alignment with students' academic goals and vocational interests Work alongside colleagues to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to team meetings Encourage student growth, resilience, and readiness for post-graduate employment Partner with families and support networks to promote student success Gain the satisfaction of helping students overcome barriers and create brighter futures.
