Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as a Special Education Teacher can make a profound difference in students' lives. Based at a single building near Cleveland, OH, this role begins August 24, 2026, and concludes June 7, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. You'll play a key role supporting two classrooms: one focused on students with multiple disabilities—including autism, non-verbal communication, and physical impairments (9-12 students)—and the other dedicated to learners with emotional disabilities (10-15 students), emphasizing BIPs, social-emotional instruction, and crisis intervention. Your experience and passion for supporting diverse learning needs will shine in a collaborative and nurturing environment. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid special education teaching license (required for all candidates) Classroom experience with students with multiple disabilities (MD) or emotional disabilities (ED) preferred Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), and social-emotional learning strategies Ability to implement specialized communication methods for non-verbal students Crisis intervention and de-escalation training is a plus Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in classroom management
Primary Responsibilities:
