Job Description
Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities (LCDD) is a county governmental agency serving children and adults who are at risk for or have a diagnosed developmental disability. We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Education; must have a current Ohio Teaching License for Intervention Specialist K-12 Mild to Moderate or Moderate to Severe Needs, have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and meet acceptable background checks. Training is provided! Work Monday thru Friday 8:00 to 3:00 - 190 days per year. Summers OFF! Salary is commensurate with years of applicable experience and education.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDUE
- Teaches school age individuals with disabilities in accordance with their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Provides instruction to children with disabilities from age's six through twenty-one and in accordance with approved curricular areas.
- Maintains an environment, both in the classroom and outdoors that is conducive to learning and free of health and safety hazards.
- Develops and implements daily lesson plans consistent with each student's Individual Education Plan and prepares materials for student use.
- Implements approved behavioral plans and/or disciplinary plans.
- Deals effectively with aggressive and/or physical behaviors in accordance with requirements. Assesses students' developmental levels and needs.
- Gathers evaluative data, plans and implements instructional goals and programs based on evaluation and assessment.
- Prepares classroom materials for use with individuals.
- Operates office equipment and computer systems for tracking student assessments and progress.
- Provides direction and training to instructor assistants, aides and volunteers assigned to assist in classrooms.
- Provide and maintain documentation in accordance with LCDD policies and procedures for services provided.
