Job Description
Job Summary The Special Education Teacher/Intervention Specialist plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs within an educational setting. This position focuses on implementing tailored strategies to enhance student engagement, promote positive behavior, and foster academic success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in special education and childhood development, along with the ability to effectively communicate and manage conflicts in a classroom environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized intervention plans for students requiring additional support. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. Provide direct education to students, focusing on behavior management and academic tutoring. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust interventions as necessary. Facilitate small group sessions to address specific learning challenges and promote social skills development. Assist in curriculum development tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities. Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention outcomes. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding student progress and strategies for improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with students in classroom settings, particularly those requiring special education services. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and conflict resolution strategies. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Ability to develop engaging curriculum materials that cater to diverse learning styles. Experience in tutoring or providing one-on-one support is highly desirable. Understanding of childhood development principles and their application in educational settings.
