Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate K-12 Instructor - Intervention Specialist to join our educational team. This role involves designing and implementing specialized instructional programs to support children with developmental disabilities, including autism and hearing impairments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, behavioral therapy, and working with diverse student populations. The Instructor will collaborate with families, therapists, and educators to promote optimal learning and development in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs, including curriculum development for literacy, math, early childhood education, and life skills. Deliver evidence-based interventions such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy techniques, behavioral management strategies, and music or recreational therapy as appropriate. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly. Utilize learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance lesson delivery and engagement. Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety and fostering positive behavior through classroom management techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and families to support holistic student development. Provide mentorship and guidance to students with disabilities, including those who are deaf or visually impaired, ensuring inclusive practices. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral data; ensure compliance with educational standards and legal requirements. Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education practices, behavioral health, early intervention strategies, and new teaching methodologies. Skills Strong knowledge of special education principles including childhood development, classroom management, and behavior management. Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, visual impairments, or other disabilities. Proficiency in speech therapy techniques, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development. Familiarity with learning technology tools, instructional design software, and standardized testing procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, colleagues, and external professionals. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate music therapy, recreational therapy, or physical education when appropriate. Experience in mentoring students and providing academic advising or tutoring tailored to individual needs. Knowledge of IEP processes and experience implementing behavioral health strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) or behavioral therapy. Pay:
$27.47 - $29.53 per hour
