  • Full-time Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Groveport, OH to hire a part-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026-2027 school year.
This itinerant position supports students across multiple school sites, providing specialized instruction and ensuring equitable access to education.
Assignment Details Contract Dates:
August 11, 2026 through May 21, 2027
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 10 to 25 hours per week
Daily Hours:
Typically aligned with school hours (around 8:35 AM

Setting:
Grades K to 12, multiple locations Position Overview This role focuses on providing individualized and consultative services to students who are blind or visually impaired. You will collaborate with school teams to ensure accessibility and support student independence across educational environments. Key Responsibilities Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments (blind or low vision) Deliver instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC), including: Braille literacy (Unified English Braille preferred) Assistive technology (screen readers, magnification tools, etc.) Visual efficiency and compensatory skills Self-advocacy and independent living skills Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as needed Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals related to visual impairment Collaborate with general and special education staff and related service providers Provide staff training and consultation on accommodations and accessibility Support classroom modifications and accessible instructional materials Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning Coordinate with Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialists as appropriate Qualifications Valid Ohio Teaching License in Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), or eligibility for licensure Bachelor's or Master's degree in Visual Impairment, Special Education, or related field Knowledge of Braille (UEB preferred) and assistive technology tools Experience in school-based or itinerant roles preferred Ideal Candidate Organized and flexible, with the ability to manage an itinerant schedule Passionate about increasing independence and access for students Strong collaboration and communication skills Comfortable working across multiple school sites and grade levels Why Work with Supplemental Health Care?
