Position reports to the Special Education Coordinator and Director of Federal Programs.
RATE:
$25.00/hour
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching license Current CPI and Ukeru Training Experience in one or more of the following areas: Autism, Intellectual Impairments, Multiple Disabilities •No one teacher is expected to provide all services for all weeks. The position may be split between teachers on a daily or weekly basis.•
Program Description:
Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program designed for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined that to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time. These services will be based on the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals/objectives.
Program Schedule:
The instructional hours for students are 10:00 am - 12:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, from June 22nd to July 24th, with a scheduled week off from June 6th to July 10th. Teacher hours are 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
Teachers in this program are expected to provide students with instruction reflected in their IEP by utilizing effective teaching strategies. Provide direct individual and/or small group instruction to address students' IEP goals/objectives. Instruction will focus on reading, writing, math, social skills, and communication. Establish a productive learning environment and classroom culture in which all students are respected. Document services and progress towards goals and objectives for ESY students. Coordinate paraprofessionals to provide safety, support, and growth toward identified goals. Provide supervision of students on community outings.
