Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role as a Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher supporting early childhood learners near Lakewood, OH. This full-time opportunity is perfect for a dedicated educator seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of young children. You'll play an integral role in fostering growth and success for a small group of pre-kindergarten students within a single school community. In this position, you'll enjoy working with a caseload of 10-15 vibrant pre-kindergarten students, providing them with individualized instruction and support. This assignment is set to begin on August 24, 2026, and will continue through November 13, 2026, offering 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
Dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education is required. Previous experience working with pre-K or early childhood populations is highly desirable. Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths. Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and related service providers. Adaptability and a passionate commitment to inclusive and developmentally appropriate practices.
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and interventions for students with diverse learning needs. Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and contribute to IEP meetings. Foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment within a single school building. Work closely with classroom staff, therapists, and families to ensure students achieve their fullest potential. Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates on student progress.
