Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with visual impairments in a vibrant educational community. This opportunity begins August 5, 2026, and runs through the end of the school year on May 27, 2027. The job is full-time and onsite, serving a caseload of approximately 8-10 students, predominantly elementary but with the possibility of supporting middle or high school students. The caseload may flex based on additional qualifying students and spans multiple school sites.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Active Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required. Experience providing both direct instructional and consultative services to students with visual impairments. Solid understanding of IEP processes, including service documentation and effective communication. Ability to work collaboratively across different schools and participate in multidisciplinary meetings. Strong organizational and time management skills to support a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative services in line with each student's IEP. Attend IEP and other relevant student support meetings as needed. Provide indirect services by maintaining timely documentation and facilitating communication connected to IEP activities. Travel between assigned school sites to ensure continuity of support. Foster positive, inclusive environments where visually impaired students can thrive.
