JOB SUMMARY
The ASP Intervention Specialist will implement IEP/ISP goals and objectives, curriculum, and behavior management programs for students with Specific Learning Disabilities. The teacher will work as part of a team on behalf of the student with regular classroom teachers, administrators, and parents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Ohio State Board of Education K-12 Intervention Specialist license in Mild/Moderate Educational Needs Prior classroom experience preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and teach an appropriate curriculum for students with Specific Learning Disabilities Provide differentiated instruction that accounts for individual student differences in achievement levels, ability, behavior, and learning modalities Develop and provide intervention instruction and assistance based on ISP and IEP goals and objectives and student assessment data Conduct student assessments to evaluate the impact of interventions; Monitor and evaluate student progress according to local, state, and federal procedures Collaborate with classroom teacher to ensure interventions are consistently implemented for students Participate in Intervention Assistance Team and Response to Intervention meetings Participates in implementing Due Process by: o Performing student observation ; o Performing student assessment with appropriate diagnostic instruments o Participating in ISP/IEP development and writing goals and objectives for students entering program o Participating in completing Evaluation Team Report o Attending all staffing and placement meetings for students eligible for specialized instruction (MFE and ISP/IEP) o Conducting placements, and annual case reviews Develop and maintain appropriate individual behavior management plans Prepare and send progress reports to parents on a quarterly basis Work with staff members to plan for and meet the needs of students on an individual basis Acts as resource person for classroom teachers regarding strategies, adaptations, and resource materials Maintain accurate and complete student records; prepare and submit all required reports within a set timeframe to the ASP district and the ESC of Lake Erie West SALARY Based on salary schedule and/or commensurate with experience and education See attached job description for full position details.
