Job Objective:
Provides specialized instruction, support, and services to students with mild to moderate disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher designs and implements data-driven, differentiated instruction while fostering inclusive learning environments that promote academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development. This position requires strong collaboration with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure each student's success.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Ohio Department of Education and Workforce licensure in Special Education (K-12). Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Ability to design and deliver differentiated instruction for diverse learners. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities. Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and behavior management strategies. Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional tools. Experience collaborating in inclusive or co-teaching environments. Training or experience in areas such as Autism support, AAC, or behavior intervention strategies is preferred.
