SPED Resource room para Position Category Support Staff Position Type Para Posting Start Date 4/16/2026 Posting End Date 7/31/2026 Position Start Date 8/13/2026 School District Indianola City, State Indianola , OK United States Description Indianola Public Schools is seeking a patient, dependable, and student-focused Special Education Resource Room Paraprofessional to support students receiving special education services in the resource classroom. This position plays an important role in helping students access instruction, build academic skills, and make progress toward their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in the special education resource room under the direction of the special education teacher Assist with implementation of IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications Provide small-group and individual academic support in reading, math, writing, and other content areas Reinforce instructional lessons and reteach skills as directed by the teacher Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behavior supports Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher Support testing accommodations as needed Maintain a structured, supportive, and safe learning environment Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other staff Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and district policy Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and (needed credentials or willing to obtain) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions from certified staff Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs Must pass background check and meet district employment requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students in special education or intervention settings Training in behavior management strategies or instructional support Previous experience as a paraprofessional, tutor, or childcare provider Include the following materials with your application: Cover Letter Include the following materials with your application: Resume Include the following materials with your application: Transcripts Include the following materials with your application: Reference List Include the following materials with your application: Letter(s) of Reference Application Instructions Please send to nbinam@indianola.k12.ok.us and pgordon@indianola.k12.ok.us Contact Name nathan binam Contact Email nbinam@indianola.k12.ok.usSimilar jobs in Indianola, OK
