Position:

Special Education Teacher of the Hearing Impaired Reports to: Director of Student Programs

Qualifications:

1. Special Education Certification. 2. Meet all certification requirements for Oklahoma, including teaching area endorsement. 3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals:

To provide Special Education Services for students who meet the criteria for Extended School Year.

Responsibilities:

Follows the procedures, practices and guidelines outlined by the school, district, State and Federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe. Provides Vision Services as outlined on the student's Individualized Education Plan. Prepares materials and equipment prior to the beginning of the service. Plans consistently to address the students diverse learning needs. Plans with other members of the team. Facilitates the use of assistive technology to enhance student learning and participation. Engages the student in active learning and uses a variety of strategies to support learning. Prepares Progress Report at the end of ESY and enters all information relative to the student in EdPlan. Performs all other duties as assigned.
