Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with special needs for the upcoming school year. This engaging position focuses on providing resource room instruction to PreK-6th grade learners. You'll be placed in a welcoming environment, working with a manageable caseload—never more than 10 students at one time—and will play a pivotal role in their academic and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid SPED certification required Experience teaching and supporting students with a range of disabilities (including other health impairments, autism, learning disabilities, hearing impairments, and severe/profound cases) Strong ability to write and implement IEPs, develop behavior plans, and create lesson plans tailored to individual student needs Organized approach to grading and documentation Comfortable working with PreK through 6th-grade students
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction in a resource classroom setting for a rotating group of students Develop and maintain IEPs, and behavior and lesson plans that support each child's unique educational journey Track and assess student progress, adapting strategies as needed Collaborate with other staff to ensure student success Manage grading and documentation for all assigned students Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment &
Schedule:
Contract position, August to May (with an early August start) Approximately 37.5 hours per week, with significantly reduced Fridays (work only 15 Fridays throughout the school year) Focused on one school site, allowing for stability and meaningful connections If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners and want a school-year schedule with work-life balance, this rewarding opportunity could be the perfect fit.
