Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Take your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to the next level by supporting K-12 learners for the 2026-2027 school year in beautiful Southern Oregon. This opportunity offers the flexibility to work in-person or remotely (VOCO), making it an excellent fit for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments. With locations spanning Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties, you'll have the chance to reach students across a diverse region and make an impact where it matters most. As a valued resource, you'll deliver vital educational services, foster independence, and collaborate closely with staff and families to improve access and outcomes for visually impaired students. This contract role is set for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 21, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Oregon state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with school-aged children (K-12), especially those with visual impairments Ability to adapt instructional strategies for students with a wide range of needs and abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and school staff Comfort with technology and willingness to provide services in-person or via virtual instruction (VOCO)Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students Deliver direct instruction, adaptive materials, and ongoing support to students across varied grade levels and abilities Collaborate with general and special educators, related service providers, and families Travel between assigned locations as needed (expenses reimbursed where appropriate) Contribute to student assessments, progress monitoring, and necessary documentation This is your chance to make a tangible difference in your field while working with supportive colleagues in an engaging educational setting.
