Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary-aged learners in a dynamic school environment near Gresham, OR. This role is ideal for compassionate educators who excel at differentiating instruction and fostering inclusive practices. The assignment spans from May 11th to June 15th, 2026, with a full-time schedule (37.5-40 hours weekly) and a caseload of approximately 25 students within a dedicated Learning Center.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility for certification in Oregon) Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting Familiarity with developing and delivering Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication abilities to collaborate with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams Organizational skills to effectively manage documentation and schedules Commitment to equity, positive classroom management, and student advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in resource or pull-out settings Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and interventions Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress Support social-emotional learning and behavior strategies as part of a multi-tiered system of supports Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal special education requirements This contract position gives you the opportunity to positively impact the daily lives and future success of your students.
