Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting near Springfield, OR. This full-time contract opportunity seeks a dedicated professional to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working directly with students across multiple sites within the district. You'll collaborate with school teams, develop and adapt individualized instructional plans, and provide specialized support that empowers students to thrive.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid credential or certification to teach students with visual impairments (TVI) Experience providing direct instruction and support to visually impaired students, preferably within a school setting Strong knowledge of assistive technology, Braille, and orientation and mobility concepts Ability to travel to multiple locations within the district as needed Flexibility, teamwork, and excellent communication skillsPrimary Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to students with varying ranges of visual impairment, using differentiated methods and materials Assess students' individual needs and collaborate on IEP development with multidisciplinary educational teams Consult with classroom teachers, families, and staff about adaptations, accommodations, and effective strategies Facilitate access to assistive technology and provide guidance on its use in the classroom Support students in achieving milestones for academic, communicative, and social-emotional growth Maintain documentation and participate in required meetings What toExpect:
