Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing during the 2026-2027 school year. Two talented professionals are needed to support K-12 learners across Southern Oregon, working either in-person or via VOCO, depending on needs and preferences. This contract opportunity spans from August 21, 2026 through June 4, 2027, serving students in the Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, and Klamath regions.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students Experience working with K-12 students with varying degrees of hearing loss Strong knowledge of instructional best practices for DHH learners Comfort with adapting teaching strategies for in-person and virtual environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to build rapport and provide individualized educational support
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students Deliver effective, engaging instruction in line with state and district standards Provide direct and consultative services, adjusting instruction and materials as needed Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialist staff, and families to foster inclusive learning environments Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed for success Contribute to professional teams, supporting positive educational outcomes for all students If you're passionate about helping students reach their full potential and ready for a supportive contract role in Southern Oregon, this is your chance.
