Job Description

We have an opening for a Middle/High School Supplemental Special Education Teacher at our IB campus for the upcoming school year. New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation on August 13th & 14th, and the week of staff professional development beginning August 17th. First day of school for students is August 24, 2026. The Supplemental Special Education Teacher will lead a self-contained classroom serving students with significant learning and/or behavioral needs. The teacher will provide specialized instruction aligned to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), create a structured and supportive classroom environment, and collaborate with staff and families to support student growth. Among other things, the teacher will: Design and deliver specially designed instruction tailored to student needs Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations Create a structured classroom environment that supports academic, social, and behavioral growth Collect, analyze, and report student data to monitor progress toward IEP goals Implement behavior plans and utilize positive behavior supports
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification:
Special Education PK-12 or 7-12 Prior experience with International Baccalaureate MYP and/or DP programs a plus Prior experience in a self-contained classroom preferred Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Strong research, planning, and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to positively interact with students to encourage development Experience with MS Office, Google Thank you for your interest in a position with School Lane Charter School.
