Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take your expertise in special education to a supportive, contract role guiding students in emotional support classrooms. Currently, two dedicated Special Education Teachers are needed: one to support grades 3-5 and one to work with middle school students. These positions foster meaningful relationships with young learners and help create nurturing environments for growth and achievement. Enjoy a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours, working with dedicated staff to deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' educational and emotional needs. Daily responsibilities include lesson planning, implementing IEPs, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting a positive learning environment. Workdays begin at 8:15 AM for elementary or 7:15 AM for middle school, ending in the afternoon—allowing time for both professional work and personal pursuits.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or closely related field Valid state Special Education Teaching Certification Experience or strong interest in working in emotional support classrooms Familiarity with IEP development, behavioral interventions, and differentiated instruction Strong collaboration and communication abilities with staff, students, and families Organizational skills to manage classroom duties and individualized support plansKey Responsibilities:
