Job Description
YOUR JOB
As a Foster Care Specialist, you play a vital role in ensuring children placed in foster care experience safe, stable, and supportive homes. You will partner closely with foster families, children, and service teams to monitor placements, provide guidance and training to caregivers, and advocate for each child's well-being. Through relationship-building, clinical insight, and consistent support, you help foster families succeed while ensuring children receive the care, structure, and encouragement they need to grow and heal.Work Location:

We have provided quality care and services to children, youth, and families through a myriad of effective community-based services. Today, The Bair Foundation provides services in 9 states, including Kentucky, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. WHAT YOU BRING
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (state-specific requirements apply)Experience:
Experience working with children and families, preferably in foster care or child welfareSkills:
Strong relationship-building, assessment, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skillsRequirements:
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet state training and certification requirementsWHAT PUTS YOU AHEAD
- Experience supporting foster or kinship caregivers
- Familiarity with child welfare systems, regulations, and best practices
- Experience facilitating training or coaching caregivers
- Comfort navigating crisis situations and supporting complex family dynamics
