05/26/2026 Special Education Teacher Elementary Long-Term Substitute 2026-27 School Year General Wayne Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Special Education Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will deliver an engaging education experience to maximize the academic, social and emotional needs of special needs students. We are looking for a candidate with a strong commitment to cultural understanding, inclusive teaching practices, and collaborative professional growth. Responsibilities Collect and analyze data to identify student learning challenges and recommend appropriate interventions or corrective strategies to enhance educational outcomes. Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs and support their implementation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with district policies and legal requirements. Foster strong partnerships with families by encouraging parental involvement and maintaining consistent, effective communication with students and their guardians. Provide direct instruction and supplemental supports in all academic areas, as well as supporting students with organization, social skills, and coping skills. Work collaboratively with teachers, families, district administration, and students to create individualized plans.
