Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a profound difference in the lives of students by providing expert support as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. The assignment is located in a welcoming community, and you'll play a vital role in enhancing accessibility and learning experiences for visually impaired students.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting is highly valued Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive educational materials Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams Ability to adapt instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across a diverse caseload Assess students' strengths and needs, and develop individualized lesson plans in accordance with IEP requirements Introduce and train students on the use of assistive technology and adaptive devices Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and administrators to facilitate an inclusive environment Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with state and district standards Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and family conferences as needed This contract position offers the chance to make meaningful contributions to students' academic and personal growth.
